Momos are steamed dumplings originating from Tibet but enjoyed across South Asia, particularly in Nepal, Bhutan, and India. They are made with a thin dough wrapper that contains a variety of fillers like minced meat mixed with vegetables or paneer. Traditionally steamed, momos can also be fried or grilled and usually served with spicy chutneys or sauces.

The popularity of momos in India has brought innovated variations like tandoori momos and cheese-filled momos. As affordable, tasty, and easy to eat, momos have become a favorite street food, consumed both as a snack and as a light meal in urban and rural areas.
